If a line has its own lastmod, it overrides the global lastmod.

About XML sitemaps

A sitemap.xml helps search engines discover and crawl your pages. Each URL can optionally include lastmod, changefreq, and priority.

Best practices

Use canonical URLs (the version you want indexed).
Don’t include URL fragments (anything after #).
Keep lastmod accurate if you use it.

Per-line lastmod format

You can add a date per line, for example: https://example.com/about 2026-02-06. If no per-line date is provided, the tool uses the global lastmod (if set).
